L\u2019une des d\u00e9faillances les plus courantes des joints toriques est l\u2019extrusion.  \n\n<strong>Qu\u2019est-ce que la d\u00e9faillance par extrusion du joint torique&nbsp;?<\/strong>\n\nL\u2019extrusion se produit lorsque l\u2019\u00e9lastom\u00e8re est forc\u00e9 dans l\u2019espace de d\u00e9gagement entre les composants d\u2019accouplement sous haute pression. Un espace de d\u00e9gagement r\u00e9duit ne laisse que peu ou pas de place \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lastom\u00e8re pour s\u2019extruder. L\u2019usinage de pr\u00e9cision peut aider \u00e0 atteindre cette tol\u00e9rance \u00e9troite.   \n\nDes dimensions de logement appropri\u00e9es et un dimensionnement correct du joint torique sont essentiels, en tenant compte du taux de remplissage du logement. Le taux de remplissage du logement est le pourcentage du volume du logement (gorge) occup\u00e9 par le joint torique comprim\u00e9. Le taux de remplissage du logement du joint torique install\u00e9 ne doit pas d\u00e9passer 85&nbsp;% afin de laisser de l\u2019espace pour la compression, le gonflement du volume et la dilatation thermique du joint torique. Si le taux de remplissage du logement est trop \u00e9lev\u00e9, le joint torique occupe un espace excessif dans la gorge, ce qui entra\u00eene une compression excessive et un risque accru d\u2019extrusion. Si le taux de remplissage du logement est trop faible, le joint torique peut ne pas se comprimer suffisamment, ce qui entra\u00eene une \u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 inefficace.    \n\nL\u2019utilisation de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e9lastom\u00e8res avec un durom\u00e8tre de duret\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 aide \u00e0 minimiser le risque d\u2019extrusion. Les \u00e9lastom\u00e8res plus durs sont moins mall\u00e9ables sous des pressions de fonctionnement \u00e9lev\u00e9es, ce qui les rend moins sujets \u00e0 l\u2019extrusion.
