TechCera advanced ceramic wear components and seals for oil and gas by Hi-Tech Seals

TechCera™ Ceramic

TechCera™ Advanced Ceramic Materials

TechCera™ ceramic is Hi-Tech Seals' family of high-performance advanced ceramics. These lightweight materials exhibit excellent mechanical properties and extreme hardness. They provide outstanding resistance to corrosion, wear, chemicals, and abrasion. TechCera™ consists of Alumina and Zirconia compounds, with other materials available upon request.

Alumina Ceramic

Alumina is a cost‑effective and widely used advanced ceramic material, making it a popular choice for precision components. It offers exceptional hardness, mechanical strength, and wear resistance, along with good thermal conductivity for a ceramic and excellent electrical insulation. These properties make alumina well suited for applications that demand heat dissipation, electrical isolation, or resistance to abrasive wear.

Zirconia Ceramic

Zirconia is known as "ceramic steel" due to its superior toughness relative to other ceramic materials. Zirconia is beneficial for components that endure high dynamic stresses and impact loading. One of its notable properties is its resistance to thermal shock, maintaining structural integrity under sudden or repeated temperature changes.

Components

TechCera™ are used to manufacture a wide range of components including but not limited to:

  • Ceramic ball bearings
  • Ceramic bearings
  • Ceramic Inserts
  • Ceramic Rollers
  • Ceramic Ring
  • Ceramic Burst Discs
  • Ceramic Valve Seats

We offer hot isostatic pressed (HIP'd) and cold isostatic pressed (CIP'd) TechCera™ ceramic compounds. HIP'd compounds offer improved mechanical properties, while CIP'd compounds allow for the production of parts with closer tolerances.
